Bought my 970 about a year ago as part of a new rig and I’ve been very happy with it. Lately I’ve been testing its limits a bit (heavily modded Skyrim) and the fans get pretty loud. The game runs great, but the noise is distracting enough that I find myself scaling back to try to get rid of it.
